About
Katie Lohec Sondej was born in New Orleans and raised on five continents. A current resident of San Francisco, she has also found home in cities like Beijing, Caracas, London, and Luanda.
The gift of this nomadic life is a trove of stories, which until recently had rarely been seen by eyes other than her own. She has written short stories, essays, blog posts, and she aspires to eventually publish her first novel. Her short story The Predator was selected as a finalist in the 2022 San Francisco Writing Contest and is now published in the 2022 SFWC Anthology, Everything Intensely.
Katie works in community relations for a tech company and spends her free time exploring hiking trails in the Bay Area, shooting photos on her 35mm film camera, and crafting cocktails with friends and family.
